Yelena Guryeva
Soprano Yelena Guryeva received her training in singing, piano and choir conducting at the music college of Petropavlovsk in Kazakhstan, her native country. Since 2002 she has lived in the Netherlands, where she has her own music practice in Gouda. She regularly sings in various music groups and performs on stage for regional theatre productions.
Her soulful interpretation of the songs and her rich musical background are a wonderful addition to the choir.
Sheila Moens
Sheila Moens received her training in playing the bajan from a virtuoso teacher from Eastern Europe, a region where this special instrument has traditionally been played.
Sheila has been a dedicated accompanist of the Alphens Kozakkenkoor since 2012 and combines this with extensive experience in working with various other instrumentalists. She is a lawyer and board member of the Music for Ukraine foundation and is also important in supporting the choir.
